Eric Levine

Over his 40 year career, Eric Levine founded and built three software companies, all of which were acquired after achieving significant revenue and employee growth. Each of those companies worked with new and innovative leading-edge technologies. Eric has been responsible for architecting and building software products, managing design, development and testing, and recruiting and building staff. He has extensive experience in business, accounting, and finance systems.

Eric began his career as a software engineer. He founded Business Systems Research (BSR), a DEC Business OEM, in 1975 to develop business applications. BSR developed turn-key systems for distribution and manufacturing business and had a division that became the market leader in supplying systems to Custom House Brokers and International Freight Forwarders. In 1980, BSR was acquired by ADP and became the International Trade division. After leaving ADP, Eric co-founded Layered, Inc., the developer of the first graphical user interface accounting software suite. Layered established dominant market share in its target market and was acquired by Peachtree Software. Eric then founded Flashpoint, Inc., a software development company that developed products for software companies and publishers, from specification through product-ship. He built and ran Flashpoint for 12 years prior to its acquisition by Bottomline Technologies in 2000. At Bottomline, Eric headed the division responsible for all aspects of their Electronic Invoice Presentment and Payments System.

At Top Dog, Eric spends considerable time on identifying and selecting appropriate Business Intelligence technologies for our target market, designing our solutions, and working with our customers and partners to ensure that our solutions meet their unique needs.

Eric attended Carnegie Mellon University and UMass Lowell and holds a BSEE degree. He also holds a Masters of Engineering Management degree from Northeastern University.

Daniel Levine

Daniel’s career has focused on IT Support - specifically IT Outsourcing, Customer Support, Network Administration and Software Development. His experiences have run the gamut of technology and software providing him with extensive experience working with Help-Desks, Financial Applications and Bio Technology Applications. Daniel has worked in many industries including Design, Bio-Technology, Non-Profit, Health Care, and Education.

Daniel started his career at Lionbridge Technologies, the world’s largest independent testing organization, as an assistant IT Manager responsible for managing internal help desk support. He moved on to the Telluride Group as a network consultant providing outsourced IT Support and Network Administration services to some of Telluride’s largest customers including: ImmunoGen, Big Sisters of America, and Harvard Law School Alumni Organization. At Telluride, Daniel gained valuable experience with providing world-class IT services for small, medium, and large organizations with varying budgets and financial constraints.

At Top Dog, Daniel manages the customer support department which includes implementation services, support, and training. Daniel is also responsible for all technology decisions as it regards the company’s product development and future plans. As an active participant in Top Dog’s development team, having lead development on products and provides programming assistance, Daniel has a hands-on approach to everything he does.

Daniel holds a BA from the University of Vermont, is a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, and is a member of Microsoft’s Product Research Panel.
