Top Dog Solutions combines industry-standard Business Intelligence (BI) technologies with our own intellectual property to create our BI products and solutions. We are Microsoft Certified Partners and leverage our relationship with Microsoft to provide the most cost effective and functionality rich BI solutions in the market today.

Many of our products are built on top of the Microsoft Office Platform leveraging Microsoft Excel as the presentation layer. Excel is the perfect tool for performing detailed analysis. Just as Excel is ideal for detailed analysis, the web is the ideal platform for distributing information to wide audiences. Our web based solutions are built on top of Microsoft Analysis Services and deployed using an industry standard application server and web server.

Desktop Solutions
Our products and solutions that are built on top of Microsoft Excel require a specific architecture. We use Microsoft SQL Server 2000 with Analysis Services as the foundation. SQL Server 2000 serves as the data warehouse for the underlying information, and we create the multidimensional OLAP structures using Analysis Services.

Data is automatically captured from your application database. We use data transformation tools, to access, filter, and normalize the information from the target databases. We use Business Intelligence for Excel (BIXL), an industry proven plug-in to Microsoft Excel produced by Paris Technologies, to dynamically access the data from the OLAP structures. BIXL transforms the spreadsheet into a Business Intelligence tool by creating a live connection between the OLAP structures and the spreadsheet model. We use Excel as the presentation layer and enhance Excel's capabilities with our proprietary technology library to create a custom user interface.

Web Solutions
Top Dog develops web based solutions utilizing a collection of technologies depending upon specific business needs. We use Microsoft SQL Server 2000 with Analysis Services as the foundation – exactly the same foundation that is used for our desktop solutions. SQL Server 2000 serves as the data warehouse for the information that is needed, and we create the multidimensional OLAP structures with Analysis Services.

For web deployments, an additional server is required for the web server. The web server hosts an application server which services all requests for information over the web. Typical application server functionality is supplied by Microsoft Sharepoint or Microsoft Reporting services. Other application server technologies can be incorporated based upon specific business or technology requirements. Front-end functionality is developed utilizing standard web development technologies such as ASP, JavaScript, and .shtmlL. The BI solution is accessed by users through Internet Explorer over the internet or intranet.
